I must admit picadillo is something i’ve never had a non-vegan version of; While I can’t compare this to the traditional dish you may be used to, I can tell you that this recipe is awesome. The zesty, flavourful, hearty latin medley can be served as tacos, over chips, or however you see fit really. I also love the simplicity of this recipe too. One pan, one knife, one cutting board are the only dishes really needed. Easy to integrate into a busy workweek.
I served over chips with cilantro, and put cheese on andrews. I would have added avocado, but the darn things won’t ripen. We also skipped the raisins in the recipe, and used one yellow chile and one jalapeno instead of only one chile (still fairly mild).
