This good hearty goulash is really filling and flavourful. The beer really stands out as the base for the broth, and the chunks of seitan are nicely marinated in broth, paprika, and cayenne. It ties together very nicely as a complex stew type dish that will truly heat up your insides; It’s perfect for a cold and stormy night.
I served the goulash with thyme biscuits as opposed to the recommended schwarzbier, and the thyme complimented the full bodied entree magnificently. I also didn’t have quite enough seitan and ended up with a soupier version, however, Andrew and I were both slurping our bowls clean.
